Scapa Technologies News Update – November 2013

We’ve come back from WWRUG13 buoyed by the level of interest in using Scapa TPP for ensuring smooth-running Remedy deployments, upgrades, migrations and other projects. The sense of community and willingness to help and share information at WWRUG is astonishing and always gives us a boost. A big thanks to all who attended our presentations and visited our booth! We hope you had as much fun as we did.

Read on to find out a bit more about what we got up to at WWRUG13 and all our other news.

Scapa TPP for Remedy

WWRUG13 Launch

Our Scapa TPP for Remedy – Capture, Process, Go release was given a ‘formal’ launch at WWRUG13. Armen and Derek gave presentations on the tool – Derek even had a volunteer try out the tool’s three easy steps during his presentation. Very brave…

In fact, both of our presentations included a live demonstration of Scapa TPP and were very well received. In particular, Derek’s presentation on optimizing Remedy systems has brought a lot of interest our way. It seems many others decided against providing a live product demonstration in their presentations this year, although we’re not sure why..? It seems like the perfect opportunity to showcase what your tool can do, although, it is really tough trying to cover all of Scapa TPP’s capabilities and the myriad benefits these can bring to your Remedy deployments in a one hour session. So, for that reason, and also in case you missed our presentations at this year’s event, we have made the slides (plus some speakers’ notes) available online. Click here to visit our WWRUG13 page.

Free 250 User Scapa TPP for Remedy License Offer EXPIRED

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS PROMOTION HAS EXPIRED

We also launched our great Scapa TPP giveaway where WWRUG13 attendees and other members of the Remedy community are able to apply for a completely FREE 250 user license of Scapa TPP for Remedy. If you would like to discover the benefits of using Scapa TPP to optimize your Remedy and ITSM systems, click here and see how much easier- and less stressful – those upgrade, migration and system change projects become.

WWRUG 2013 – Scapa Whisky Winner

Well, what can we say? In keeping with a tradition we established a few years back, we went to WWRUG13 with some Scapa single malt whisky to help soothe the dry throats and aching limbs of speakers and attendees alike. It seems to work and has the added benefit of encouraging people to talk about their system horror stories and anecdotes. We’re pretty spooked now which is perfect for this time of year…

Another of our WWRUG traditions is to have a prize draw where someone gets to take home a bottle of Scapa malt whisky. This year’s lucky winner was Joe Bucci from IBM. Congratulations Joe, we hope you enjoy (or have already enjoyed!) your prize.

Scapa TPP for Thin Client and VDI

We’re really pleased to say that we’re in the final testing stages of some exciting new developments for our Thin Client and VDI products. We’ve been working hard to incorporate all of the requests we’ve received and improve in the areas we’ve needed to, and we believe that the time and efforts spent on this development will revolutionize the testing projects of all of our customers and partners. More details to follow on the new releases in the next newsletters. Keep checking back for those.

Citrix XenApp Benchmarking Project

We’re also delighted to have completed a significant benchmarking project, using Scapa TPP for Thin Client to provide a system technology capacity, performance and end user experience comparison (2010 versus 2003 vDisk on Citrix XenApp) for a customer. Our testing focused on how the competing technologies compared from the end users’ perspective to really get a handle on how these systems would fare in a live production environment. The results have been quite spectacular and we hope that we can get the green light to share some of this information with you. The ability to compare system technologies in your own specific environment, uncover the pros and cons of each, construct a compelling case and set of reasons to support your decision and ensure the selected system will provide your organization with what it needs, provides confidence and removes a lot of the stresses involved in IT purchasing and decision-making. We can help you achieve that!
